Additionally, the Nanuet Outdoor Education Center doesn't need as much electricity because there are only a few indoor areas. Also, solar energy is renewable so it can be reused. The Sun heats water up which turns to steam which powers the generator. Solar cells help generate electricity. Glass covering the panels heats up because of the sun and then heats the water in the black pipes which helps the heating system. That is how this energy is transferred into usable energy.
